Spelling his name

Last night Chris and I asked Cole how he spells his name, he said "C-o-l-e". It was nice to hear him spell it out verbally. As far as writing his name, that might be awhile yet. We are so proud of Cole.

Christmas 2008

We had a nice Christmas. Seems like it came and went so quickly. This was the first year that Cole really got into the whole Santa stuff. He enjoyed walking around at night to check out all of the Christmas lights. One of his favorite gifts from Santa was the Leapster, he enjoys playing the Thomas The Tank Engine game on it. The comment we heard the most during this Christmas season was "Santa fractured his femur". Dada and I had to tell Cole over and over that Santa is fine and would still be bringing some presents to Cole's house on Christmas.

Halloween 2008

I made Cole this costume for his school's Halloween party. His costume for Trick or Treating was Sportacus from the television show Lazytown.

Turning 3

Cole turned 3 in August. His cast was removed 4 days before his birthday. It took him about 2 months to figure out how to run correctly again. But he is 100% better now.

Fractured Femur

On June 1, Cole and I attended a birthday party for a little boy in Cole's class. The party was at a bouncy house (jumper, astro jump)place. 45 min. into play time, Cole falls down next to me crying. He was the only one in the bouncy house that was moving. Long story short, he fractured his femur. A cast was put on for 5 1/2 weeks, a cast meant for crawling only. That was removed and the x-ray revealed that the bone had not healed. So we were told that he would need to wear the new walking cast for 2 to 3 weeks. Almost 3 weeks later (that would be today), the cast was removed and another x-ray was done. Still not 100% healed. So now he is in a new walking cast for 3 more weeks. This one will be taken off a few days before his 3rd birthday.
Cole was the 3rd kid in the ER that weekend at our hospital with a broken bone from being in one of the bouncy house things. At Cole's dentist appt. his dentist said that he has seen so many kids come in with broken teeth or missing teeth from being in one of those bouncy houses.
